Which is cheaper to own over five years?

The Falcon. It costs $1,004 more upfront ($14,999 vs $13,995) but requires no subscription, so its five-year cost is just the purchase price. The Trackman iO's cheapest simulator-enabling plan is $700/yr; Trackman includes the first year, so four paid years put it at $16,795. The Home Complete tier needed for its full club data is $1,100/yr, which puts it at $18,395. The 5-year cost row charges all five subscription years for consistency across the database, so it shows a slightly wider gap than the first-year-included math does — the Falcon comes out cheaper on every reading.

Is the Falcon replacing the GCHawk?

Yes. Foresight published a GCHawk Discontinuation Notice effective August 10, 2026 that names the Falcon overhead launch monitor as the replacement and states standard warranty terms will be honored for all GCHawk units sold to date. GCHawk no longer appears in Foresight's launch-monitor lineup, though dealer closeout stock was still listed at its former $19,999 price at our September 2026 check.

Which one needs less room?

On our computed minimum depth the iO comes out shallower — 15.2 ft against the Falcon's 17 ft — but read that gap carefully. Trackman publishes an 8 ft 2 in tee-to-screen minimum, so the iO's figure is built from a real published number. Foresight publishes no equivalent figure for the Falcon, so we apply a conservative 10 ft ball-flight default; treat 17 ft as a cautious floor rather than a measured requirement. Ceiling height is near-identical: 9.5 ft for the Falcon against 9.4 ft for the iO (Trackman publishes 9 ft 4 in to 10 ft above the hitting surface).

How does the club data compare?

The Falcon reports 8 club-delivery metrics and Carl's Place states no separate club markers or stickers are needed for them. The iO reports 7, but 6 of those — face angle, club path, face to path, dynamic loft, impact height and impact offset — require the $1,100/yr Home Complete tier; the $700/yr Home plan gives club speed only. On software the Falcon is the more open unit, working with FSX Play, FSX 2020, FSX Pro Performance, GSPro and E6 Connect, while the iO runs Trackman Virtual Golf and Trackman Performance Studio only.
